Globus Future Directions

The Globus Toolkit provide fundamental infrastructure required to build large-scale interoperoperable Grids. In this talk, I describe the role of the Globus Toolkit in the overall software ecosystem required to build production Grids and applications. I will describe the impact of the recently introduced Web Services Resources Framework on the Globus toolkit. The talk will conclude with a overview of the status of the toolkit as of the release of version 3.2, and outline major goals of the forthcoming 4.0 release.
