NA2 - DISSEMINATION AND OUTREACH

One of the key areas of the Enabling Grids for E-science in Europe (EGEE) project is Dissemination and Outreach. In order for the project to succeed, it is vital to proactively raise awareness of EGEE, attract interest and ultimately participation in the project from the academic community, business and government. This will be achieved, in part, through a quality communications strategy.

The lead partner for dissemination, TERENA in the Netherlands, will work closely with the Project Office at CERN in Switzerland and its dissemination partners in the Federations.

The main areas of dissemination will include:

  • The development of a corporate style and brand (logos, external website, print material and so on)
  • The design, content and upkeep of an external EGEE website will be undertaken by TERENA. Please see http://public.eu-egee.org for more information
  • The design, content and upkeep of an internal EGEE website will be undertaken by CERN. Please see EGEE intranet for more information
  • To manage the media relations. This will include writing news releases, organising translations, distribution to the relevant media, organising media interviews, building aEuropean-wide EGEE media list, collating and monitoring press cuttings, managing relationships with key journalists, organising media briefings and conferences
  • To organise two EGEE conferences a year - one open to the wider community and one open to participants of the EGEE project
  • To write, design and execute publicity material
  • To maintain internal mailing lists
  • To manage Government Relations and lobbying
  • To write and distribute dissemination plans
  • To document major events (filming, photography, news articles)
